stage 01
CLOUD TOPS
You enter through ammonia cloud decks moving in banded streams. Pressure begins to increase immediately. There is no ground beneath them — only more atmosphere.
stage 02
DEEPER
The atmosphere becomes denser and hotter. Light from above thins out. Wind is no longer weather in any sense you would recognise; it is the medium itself in motion.
stage 03
FAR BELOW
Hydrogen enters exotic high-pressure states. The distinction between gas and liquid stops being meaningful. Nothing here has a surface to break against.
stage 04
THE INTERIOR
There is no conventional solid surface to land on. Whether a compact core exists at the centre, or only a gradual thickening, is still debated.
